E-Mealz Plug

First, per federal guidelines, I am compelled to say that I am in no way, shape or form being paid for what I am about to say. There is no pay to play on this blog (at least until further notice... just in case one of my readers did win Mega Millions), and it's strictly editorial banter.

Now, let me tell you about a really nifty site I've found thanks to one of my sorority sisters. It's called E-Mealz and it's a meal planning resource. Basically, for $5 a month, you get weekly menus with a shopping list. You pick your grocery store when you sign up, and the meals are planned to coincide with the grocer's weekly sales. There are low fat plans, weight watchers plans, and there are also different plans for couples and families. The meals also use the same ingredients throughout the week, so there's less wasted food and money.

Currently, Mr. Beauty Queen and I are doing the low-fat plan for couples, which has been amazing. It's not repetative, and it's taken all the guess work out of meal planning, since it's hard planning for the two of us. Plus, they're super easy to prepare.

Anyway, it's been a great way to eat healthy and get into a routine. I highly suggest you give it a try. Check out www.e-mealz.com to sign up or get more information and sample meal plans.

In other news, the Miss America delegates arrive in Las Vegas tomorrow. I'll be posting my picks for the crown soon!

First Workout of '11 and Dessert

Well, I just finished my first workout of 2011 and it was amazing!

I did about 30 minutes of hardcore running, followed by 20 minutes of weight lifting. I feel great, energized and refreshed. I am determined to do this and I can't wait to work out tomorrow.

In the meantime, I wanted to share my secret for satisfying my sweet tooth while I lose some of this poundage - gum!

If you have not tried the new Dessert Delights by Extra, oh my God are you missing out. Just the SMELL of this stuff might curb your craving.

Anyway, hope you're all doing well, and off to a good start on those resolutions. I really feel like this could be my year.

Happy 2011!

Happy New Year lovies!

I can't believe I started this blog in 2009. And I can't believe I'm still a fat ass.

Sooo... this leads me to my resolutions for 2011. Are you ready?

1.) Be healthy. By healthy I mean stop stuffing my face with things that aren't good for me just because I'm lazy, or busy, or depressed, or bored. Yeah. That has to stop.

2.) Lose weight. At least 50 pounds. I'll be adding a pound tracker type thing soon. If you have suggestions where I can find one of these, let me know.

3.) Be hot. And I mean super hot. There are a lot of things on the horizon for me this year that require incredible hotness. As of right now, my sorority sisters and I are planning on attending the Kentucky Derby festivities this year, and that is is just not an arena for obesity. Additionally, as I mentioned in my last post, there are several weddings that are coming up in the next coming months, especially one big, important one in the fall. I'm also working on finishing a manuscript for a novel I've been working on, and if the thing is ever published, I will not be seen on the inside of a dust-jacket looking like crap. That's just unacceptable.

There are also some other things coming up this year that rely on being incredibly hot, but I'll talk more about those later on.

And, finally, my last resolution...

4.) Floss more often. I really suck at that sometimes. Okay. Most of the time...

Anyway, what are your 2011 resolutions? What are you hoping to accomplish this year?
